Your help is urgently needed to support a Black community activist!

On Tuesday June 7, 2022, while attending a hearing for dozens of people arrested in May at the Capitol demanding Just Cause legislation statewide, Black activist and organizer Clyanna Lightbourn was arrested and is now being charged with felony allegations of obstruction of governmental administration, resisting arrest, criminal contempt, tampering with physical evidence, and disorderly conduct.

According to the Times Union, she was trying to film the proceedings when her phone was confiscated. She attempted to grab her phone back and this is the action from which the allegations stem. As a result, she was arrested and lost her job.
